In 1977 NASA launched the probe Voyager 2 into space, inviting all lifeforms in the Universe to visit Earth. Well get ready, as company's a comin'. John Carpenter's road movie tells of one such alien taking the form of a young widow's husband, before asking her to drive him across America.

Jeff Bridges in the title role gives an Academy Award nominated performance alongside national treasure Karen Allen. The two together embark on a race against time with the Federal Government hot on their trail. Carpenter's skilful direction results in a beguiling piece of science-fiction.
