Dialogues | Jonas Kocher

Jonas Kocher

Thursday 3rd October 2013, 8pm.
Inspace, 1 Crichton Street, Edinburgh EH8 9AB

Since John Cage, experimental music has paid greater attention to the sound universe which surrounds the musician. And since Alvin Lucier, space has been considered to be just as fundamental as time, when it comes to music.

Jonas Kocher has adapted their lessons wonderfully: his music rustles with microtones, the tapping of keys and the screeching of shutters, all of which evoke a delicate texture of viral harmonics woven together, which become lost in the air. (Fabien Simon)

Dialogues | Club Inégales

Dialogues WoB

Saturday 8th December 2012, 8pm. £5
Inspace, 1 Crichton Street, Edinburgh EH8 9AB

notes inégales are one of the most innovative new ensembles in Britain. Described as ‘post-fusion’ they combine playing written new music with improvisation/collaboration – and playing rhythmically ‘funky’ (inégales!) as well as straight.

The ensemble have their own club in London, club inégales. At each session notes inégales play, then guests play, then a new collaboration together. The sheer range of guests - in a friendly interactive environment - constantly invites the audience to ‘hear fresh’.
