Initiated by Scottish Screen in 2000, the Alt-w Fund is for practitioners based in Scotland to make and develop new artworks, devices and creative applications that challenge the notions of what new media creativity can be.
The fund supports artists to explore experimental and interactive practice, make use of technology as both medium and message, and recognise the changing role that digital culture has in our society.
Cycle 11 of the fund has a strategic thematic focus on architecture and will be delivered in partnership with the Travelling Gallery and the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland. Guidelines are available to download below.
"Best grants ever. Alt-w alumni must be the best supported artists in the business. The benefits for us of winning one of these extended way beyond just the funding."
New Media Scotland's Alt-w Fund receives investment from Creative Scotland.
