It's essential for designers to convey their brand in a strong, individual and coherent manner. Third year fashion students from Edinburgh College of Art have worked collaboratively to create three new fashion brands, Blake, Sia and Ensemble. Together they have created the Legacy Pop-Up Shop for Inspace, open for two days only.

As part of the 'No Concessions' fashion season at Inspace, the Stitch Lounge is taking over the laboratory, bringing 'makers' and 'players' together for one weekend only to create some fast fashion.

We've patterns at the ready, 10 Singer sewing machines raring to go, plus hundreds of meters of white fabric and a ton of clothes to customise. Everyone is encouraged to join in, experiment and get those little hands busy

Fellini's eighth and a half film as a director, stars Marcello Mastroianni as a famous Italian film director Guido Anselmi. Winning two Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film and Best Costume Design, it’s a ravishing beauty.

Guido is suffering from director’s block. Production has stalled on his new science fiction film. So in order to unravel his present and move forward, he starts to recall his past, and the women he’s loved and left. Universally and perennially acclaimed.

For all you set-jetters out there, a treat filmed right here on our doorstep. It’s 1930s Edinburgh and Miss Jean Brodie cuts a dash through the Marcia Blaine School for Girls. She has the frocks, she has her tenure, and she has a tendency to romanticise Fascism in class.

The Brodie Set are the focus of her devotion and energy, her girls are the crème de la crème. But overlooking Greyfrairs Kirk and on the banks of the Forth at Cramond, there is a snake in the grass… and the trousers.

Through the lens of fashion photographer Laura Mars’ camera she captures the extreme beauty of stylised violence by and against women. It’s controversial, but it’s made her the hottest creative talent in New York.

She can stop Broadway traffic with her shoots, but when she suddenly starts having startling visions of murder and mayhem, nothing is what it seems. NYC is a “kind of eerie, lavish dreamland” according to a New York Times review, perfect for a scissor thriller romance.

Throw in one all expenses paid trip to Paris, the chance of meeting her idol, a noted philosophy professor and Audrey Hepburn is soon dressed head to toe in Givenchy declaring “I don’t want to stop. I like it. Take the picture.”

Sidney Stratton is a selfless chemist obsessed with inventing a fibre that never gets dirty and never wears out. Unable to hold down research jobs for being way too demanding when it comes to laboratory equipment, he takes a lowly labourer’s position at a local textile mill, but on the sly he cheerily completes his life’s work.

Bingo! He gives the world a miracle, fashioned into a dazzling white suit. Big business promptly starts falling over themselves to get a cut of his cloth.

Hannah McGill will be reading from her work 'Dressing Natalie'. We'll be speaking to Sarah Walden from the Berg Fashion Library and Richard Minsky, founder of the Center for Book Arts NYC and virtual arts journal SLART.
