Christos Michalakos a composer and performer who works with combinations of bespoke software, acoustic percussion and live electronics. His practice explores new strategies for electronic performance by investigating modes of interaction between the acoustic and electronic sound worlds.

Chris Watson is one of the world's leading recorders of wildlife and natural phenomena. The unearthly groaning of ice in an Icelandic glacier is a classic example of, in Watson's words, putting a microphone where you can't put your ears.

Dialogues | Sabine Vogel

The first of two concerts is a solo performance by Sabine Vogel. As a flautist she focuses on sound and improvisation, using extended techniques both acoustic as well as electronic, creating a very personal contemporary language for the flute.

The second is a workshop concert by students from the MSc Sound Design and MSc in Digital Composition and Performance. They will perform new pieces, new instruments and improvisations following three days of intense collaboration with Sabine.

Johannes Heldén

We're delighted to welcome back Johannes Heldén with a beautiful set of deep drone for you. This Stockholm-based visual and sound artist, poet and science fiction fanatic plays moody, melodic and magnificent ambient music. It'll be an order of shadows with a side of melancholia.

Launching his new album, Marcin Pietruszewski is a composer and laptop improviser. His practice is informed by research into cognitive science, contemporary mathematics and philosophy. His work explores data signification and multichannel sound spatialisation.

From a microsecond in a digital system right through to the sonic concepts that sustain a multi-edition TV series to the lifespan of your mobile phone and the impact of appification on the craft and its reception.

Since John Cage, experimental music has paid greater attention to the sound universe which surrounds the musician. And since Alvin Lucier, space has been considered to be just as fundamental as time, when it comes to music.

Jonas Kocher has adapted their lessons wonderfully: his music rustles with microtones, the tapping of keys and the screeching of shutters, all of which evoke a delicate texture of viral harmonics woven together, which become lost in the air. (Fabien Simon)

Konk Pack brings together three major figures in contemporary music, Tim Hodgkinson, Thomas Lehn and Roger Turner.
